A new year...

As a year ends, and new year begins, a chapter of our lives closes. This year by far has been the hardest one yet. I didn't send out Christmas cards or an end of the year letter with our family's highlights, because I didn't feel like there was any. It would have been a letter with "lowlights". I feel like I have been hiding behind a fake smile this past year. Pretending that everything is all ok. I wanted to share with my family, friends, and followers more. The year started out with a real bang! Jesse was injured at work and needed emergency back surgery. The doctors were reallly scared that he would go paralyzed just lying him down on the table for the surgery. His injury, surgery ans recovery was really hard. I worried about him and still do, because it can happen again at anytime. Every disc in his back is bad, so it is only a matter of time before he needs another surgery. This injury and surgery caused Jesse's pay to dramatically reduce his pay. We applied for a home loan modification. They told us that we were preapproved, and we just needed to pay $300.00 a month for three month until they finalized the modifiction. In the end they admitted that they incorrectly read our modification application. They denied it, and told us to write a letter to have them reapply us. Six weeks later they said that there was no such thing as writing them a letter. They screwed us. Citmortgage wanted all of the payments that they original told us not to pay plus more. They want over $8000.00. We of course didn't have it. so they told us to put our house up for a short sale. Mean while I had been going through a tough pregnancy. I was in preterm labor for three months. My doctor wanted me on bde rest, but with two small children and broken husband that wasn't a possibility. I just had to make it work. But that wasn't all, my life was also being filled with drama from the my husbands family. If you know them, you know what a mean. There was an incident with a certain family member who became out of control and indangered the lives of myself and other children. Due to the embarrasment, I don't wish to share more about this person. So much forv a stress free pregnancy. After months of preterm labor, I was induced on July 12th, 2010. OUR HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR...The healthy birth of Charles. It was hard bringing him home to a house that we knew would not be ours for too much longer. Our realtor said our home could sell faster if it was empty. So we did what comes naturally, we knelt and prayed for guidance. After pondering the situation Jesse and I felt like moving to Kansas was what we needed to do for our family. Packing was hard for me because I could only take what would fit into our trailor. Part of me felt it was very freeing to be rid of excess junk and crap that were not nessecities. But the other part of me was acheing inside. I had to leave our home. OUR HOME. Those two simple word make me cry everytime I say them. It was our first home. We moved into this home when Jr was 16 months old. We grew from a family of three to a family of five in this home. We brought two children home from the hospital here. Jr learned to play ball here. Holly learned to walk in this home. I think of all of the many birthdays and holidays celebrated in our home, all of the FHE and movies nights spent at our home. Also, leaving our neighborhood was extremely hard. We had the best neighbors ever! I love Andrea! She was the best neighbor, VT companion and close friend! I will miss all of the chats in the yard her. She always made me feel loved. Leaving our ward family super hard. I cried many hours and think of them often. Just to name a few of these ladies I love...
Angie, what a wonderful thoughtful person who showed myself and family so much love. I was her visiting teacher but I know she did so much more for me than I ever did for her.
Amy, my sweet Amy. I am so grateful for her. She helped me recognize what is really important in life.
Jenette, ever smiling. She always let me know she was there for me.
Carrie, fabulously wise. Taught me to find the laughter and joy in everyday life.
Heather E., love her! We just totally connected! I felt like we had been friends for ever. Miss You!
Heather S., You and your Hubby are the best, always there for us, even late at night.
Ginger, so much fun! So real and down to earth. Showed me to be myself.
Katie, knows just how to make me laugh.
Heather L, Megan, Kim, Chaundelle, Holly, Bobette, Kaylene, Jody,Kendra, Leslie, Mandy, & Natalie.
I love these ladies and I hope they all know how much I appreciate how they touched my life.
So we moved anyways, back to the move. We left our home and our neighborhood thinking our house was going to sell. Turns out Jesse sibling moved in. We were told he tore it up and locked out our realtor. So in the end it was put up for auction and that was that. Our home was gone! I hope someone great moves in because they are very lucky to live by all of these wonderful women. Leaving our Jesse's sister's family, the Walkers was heartbreaking. I love those guys so much. Trisha has become my spiritual compass. She has taught me so many things and helped me find my way. She has been such an example to me, and a great mentor. She constantly shared her testimony with me. She means so much to me. I love her!
So we now live in Kansas. For the time being my husband, children and I am living in my fathers basement. Not a good situation. Things are great with my Dad. Jesse and my Dad get along great. They work out together everyday. The problem is with my Dad's aweful wife! I am not exagerating she is really aweful. She throws temper tantrums, and then tell outrageous lies. I have never disliked someone so much. I thought living here would be great, because I get to be close to my family again. The family part is good. The being homeless, and living with my dad's wife not great! Trying to find a job, not fun either. Due to my husband injury and fighting with workmans comp he can not work right now. I have been looking for work for awhile. For the time being, I have been roofing with my dad. Woo hoo! That's real fun. On the upside, we have been able to stack up some money. Enough money to buy a house! Not finance! In full!!! You can do that in Kansas. Yes we bought a house in small town for...DRUMROLL, PLEASE...$8,000! Yes, I said $8,000. I know what you are thinking, "what kind of shack would you buy for that?" Small? Not at all. It is like 1700 square feet. That is a big as our home in West Jordan. Need work? Yes, but not as much as you would think. The best part of it all, in the end, it is all ours!! Plus with having no mortgage, you don't need to bring in a huge income. I can work part time, and it will give us more than enough to live and save. Most importantly we will get to be together all the time. We have spent so many years with Jesse spending six days a week breaking his back working from early in the morning till after dark and many days after bedtime. When we compare life before Jesse's injury and life now, you can't help but focus on the difference of how time is spent. Sure the money was really good when Jesse worked all the time, but we weren't good. We didn't know I was unhappy and he was unhappy. Having Jesse home with us for this year has been such a blessing. I feel like I have a full time partner. We get to spend so much time together as a family. I love it, and so do the kids!
This past year has been so hard for us, mentaully, financially and spiritually, but what a learning experience. I found myself so often kneeling and praying for understanding. I have learned when things are tough pray for that, understanding. That is what has kept me going. Being able to look at my life struggles and know that this is why I have to experience it. To have that understading that my savior knows me and knows exactly what I need to learn to build my testimony. I have also learned that if I try to run away from one of lifes lesson from my Heavenly Father, he will just have it show up again in a different way. Man, he is good. In the end, I learned what is most important to me in life, my eternal family. It doesn't matter where we live,what items we own, or how much money we make, all that matters is we have each other and that we live in a way that we can guide our children in righteousness. I love my Savior and all that he did for me. I love my Heavenly Father and the constant guidance.
I'm sorry this post has seemed to go on and on. I tried to make this last year brief. : ) I love you all and hope your year and the new year is fabulous! XOXO

Charles's Special Day

The first sunday in August we blessed Charles at church. All of our childrens' blessing are special but this one was extra special for Jesse and I because it was the first one that he was able to not only be a part of but actually give it. It was very wonderful and emotional, and I felt so overwelhmed with the spirit. Not only did we get to share it with our very special ward family but Jesse's sister, Trisha and her family came to share the day with us.

We wen bowling for family night. I was worried how well Holly could bowl a broken arm, but her brother, Jesse loved helping her. We all had a blast and of course, I won! :)

Miss Muffet's Birthday and her misfortune!

My little Miss Muffet had another birthday! Holly turned 4 on October 11th!! It was a big one for her. She knew once she turned four that her sippy cups were going "bye-bye". She was upset about it for a couple of days, but she got over it pretty quickly. She got to go on a special Mommy and Princess date with me. She dressed up in a fancy pink dress, new pink high heels and pearl "clip-on" earings. I took her to Flour Girls, Dough Boys located in American Fork in Utah. We sat and ate inside a castle with a table for two. We had her favorite soup, a panini and potato chips! Holly picked out an adorable pink gourmet cupcake. She was thrilled!! Then we went to place called Dear Lizzie. Its is perfect for my little princess. She loves it as much as I do. She pick out a princess diamond septer that wouldn't be complete without boa feathers and satin ribbon. She is definately my little princess!!!

If you are wondering what is on her arm in the lower picture, it is a cast. About two weeks before her birthday she was on a trampoline and she feel and broke it. She has been on a trampoline hundreds of times and the one time she does something other than jump she breaks her arm. Tip of the day- Tramps are for jumping and not running around the outside rim! :) She was a real trooper.

Monday morning, July 12th, 2010 we woke up at 6:00 am to call the Hospital and find out what time we could come in to be induced. They said they were pretty full and they would call us later. Well I was too anxious to go back to sleep. So I got up, showered and got ready for the day. Once I was all ready, we decided to go have breakfast, just the two of us. Our other two kids, Jesse and Holly, had been having a sleep over with their cousins. Well we decided on IHOP. Yeah, I know really special, but we had a coupon. It ended up being worth it because I ordered an incredible crepe that I am still dreaming about. After we order, we called the house phone to check to see if there were any messages from the Hospital. Sure enough, there was. We told the waitress, we needed our food ASAP! So we ate and hurried over to the hospital. We got checked in and they gave me pitocin. Sure enough the contracts started, but didn't phase me becasue my hubby spoiled me a few weeks ago with an ipod touch. I was jamming out and didn't notice them. Ok, so here is the before story. I went into this thinking, "I have a pretty good pain tolerance. Why NOT try to do it natural?" I guess I figure, if I didn't make it, atleast I could say I tried to do it natural. My previous two child births, I had epidurals, and I didn't have any pain during labor. Let me say it again, and I didn't have any pain!! What was I thinking!! Whew, Bring on the pain! Eventually, Dr. Hansen came and broke my water. All most instantly the intense back labor started. That was not fun and it only got worse. Sure enough, I gave up. My husband, Jesse was so encouraging, I wanted to kill him! Now I love it, but at that moment I wanted to hurt someone as much as I was hurting. So, on to the pushing part, it was bad like screaming bad, but I am gonna leave that part out. It is actually full of some pretty funny stuff, and my hubby loves to tell it. So, if you want to here about it, ask him. In the end, I figured out that my pain tolerance may not be as high as I originally thought it was. I don't know if I will be doing that again. I also don't think I would have done it if I knew he was going to be 9lbs 1oz. Well, he is here now. He is absoulutely beautiful. We all so excited to have him in our little family. The kids love him and want to help with everything. Jesse and I couldn't be happier. Welcome to the world, Charlie!

This is my tiny baby boy, Jesse getting ready to come home from the hospital back in 2004. He is growing up. If you can believe my little baby is about to graduate from kindergarden. He will then go to first grade and leave me all day. I am very proud of him, but very sad to think he is no longer that little baby boy who liked to cuddle. I hate that they grow up so fast. It makes me feel old!!!

We found out a few weeks ago that it was another boy that will be joining our family. Miss Holly was not very happy about it. Within a few days she started getting used to the idea. Thank goodness! I didn't know what to do about it. We are just trying to figure out a name or atleast some idea. We may wait until we meet him.

Logan Temple

Last week we had the oppertunity to go up north and go to the Logan Temple. We decided to do sealings. I forgot my temple dress so I had to rent one. Not a good idea. Being so pregnant it made me very hot! But I made it through. We were lucky enough to be a part of and witness, 227 names be sealed to one another. I was beautiful, and amazing to be a part of. The Logan temple is very beautiful and filled me with some much needed peace. I am truely grateful for this time in my life were I am so blessed to live so close to so many temples. I feel very blessed to be able to be apart of this marvelous work.

My Dad's Baptism

A few weeks ago my Dad was baptized. If you knew the whole story, you would know that this was a really huge deal to myself and my family. We have waited a really long time for this. I am greatful for the support he recieved from his family. He had lots of family drive intown for it. I am greatful that my husband could be apart of the circle when he was confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and given the gift of the Holy Ghost. I am very proud of my Dad and his desicion to be baptized. I hope that this will be an example to others who have lost their way, that they may know that it is never too late to return to the path of righteousness. Heavenly Father's arms are always open and he is just waiting for you.

On May30th, 2009 we were sealed together with our children at the Salt Lake Temple. It was an amazing experience that we were able to share with so many of our friends and family members. This day will forever be in our hearts.

Jesse's huge family at Thanksgiving!!!

I took my tripod out to our Thanksgiving meal with Jesse's family. This is his IMEDIATE family. Yes IMEDIATE!!!And we were missing two brothers, one granddaughter and sister who passed away. He has FOUR BROTHERS, FOUR SISTERS, THREE BROTHERS-IN-LAW, SIX NEPHEWS and SEVEN NIECES. And three of those brothers are yet to have children. The oldest sister has eight children of her own and she is bound to get pregnant again. That is only what is on his side. I don't have that many siblings but I have just as many nieces and nephews.

And yes that is the camera remote in my hand! I didn't think about hiding my hand at the time. Some great photographer I am! LOL

My friend Bobette told me to get photoshop. Thank You, Bobette! I had no idea that I could use it to repair old photos. This is a picture of my husbands sisters, Trisha and Krista. Krista passed away at young age, and they have many cherished photos of her. Some of them have gotten damaged or faded with age, being that they are like more than 30 years old. I have been wanting to have some of them restored, but every place is like $45.00 and up per photography. So I was stoked to find out that I could do it with a photoshop program. Here is my first attempt.

I hate seizures!

I Hate Hate Hate seizures! My children inheirited this aweful things called feverial seizures from my husband. No one in my family have ever had a seizure. Not in my extended family either. Growing up had never even seen a person have one. So to my surprize, both of my children have them. Late Friday night my daughter woke up crying and very upset. Jesse went and got her and reliezed she was running a fever. Knowing that I just ran out of children's lyquid motrin, I tried having her take childrens chewable tylenol. She hated that and spit it out. Never knowing exactly when my kids will have a seizure, she dropped to the floor, hitting her head on the tile. I picked her up and just held her tight until it was over. Afterwards all can do is sobb, saying why do my children keep having these. Saturday morning, I was super tired from staying up half the night worried about Miss Holly, but I figured she would be ok and I went to work. I left her with my nephew. I started blogging at work about how much I hate seizures when I recieved the phone call saying, "Holly is having another seizure!" I panic drove home. Luckily our shop is right down the street. I got there to find her limp, because they take so much out you. I held her and cried once again. I decided to take her to the hospital, because she had more than one in 24 hours. Turns out she had an ear infection(Which my kids never get!). So that was causing the fevers. We came home Saturday night with medicine and once again our world is back to normal.

Well, I planned on taking my kids out to take some pictures with the help of my niece, Meghan Walker. I thought it would be another cloudy day and it turned out to be very sunny, too sunny! Plus, Holly fell asleep in the car and Jr just wanted to run. It didn't turn out so well. But I tried anyways!

My brother-in-law, Jake needed a ride downtown to his school, so I got to take him. I like that because I like going to see the temple. I enjoyed myself, but Jesse Jr was in one of those moods where he didn't want his pictue taken. Their Uncle Jake, was having way too much fun getting his picture taken. Salt Lake City Temple

I went to downtown Salt Lake this week, and my favorite thing to do is walk around temple square. I love the history of this temple, and I love the feeling I have when I am around this temple. I think it is gorgeous, so I was happy that I remembered my camera. I've been wanting to take some pictures of it. It was a gorgeous sunny day , and to top it off there were two couples in the wedding attire. JUST LOVELY!! Too bad my son was being a nightmare. He just wanted to swim in the water! LOL

Nap Time

If you know my son and have seen him in action, you know how active he is. I love nap time. I find it relaxing. It is my time during the day to take a moment to myself to breathe. I NEED, NEED, NEED this time to step back from the everyday crazyness life gives me. Time to through in another load of laundry, clean up them mess from lunch, and then I sit down and enjoy the peace and quiet that nap time brings. Oh, the joys of Motherhood!

I love reading about the dedications of temples. It excites me and shows me how blessed we are to live at a time where we as members of this wonder church can live without fear. We can build up the kingdom up Zion and joyfully share the gospel with the world.

Hundreds of LDS Church members from across south-central Idaho gathered here Sunday to celebrate the new Twin Falls Idaho Temple.
President Thomas S. Monson dedicated the temple, the 128th worldwide for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jesse Jr's forth Birthday!

Jesse Jr turned four on August 17th. I can't believe he is four already. It makes me feel really old. Anyways, he asked for a guiter for his birthday and I couldn't resist. He is so cute. He pretends he knows what to do and makes up little songs to sing while playing. So stinkin' cute. I'll have to make a video of that. He has also been wanting a bike, so he was very excited to see a bike when he came downstairs an his birthday morning.
Jesse was set on having a rocket cake for his birthday. So, i had to be creative and he it is. This is me being creative on a Sunday. The day I usually take a nap after church, but instead I wa decorationg this silly cake for hours. It was well worth it when I saw the look on his face after seeing he's very special rocket birthday cake. He talked about that cake for like week. He told everybody we talked to about it, even the cashier at the grocery store! So it made me feel good. It looks like there will be many more silly and outrageous cakes in my future. Holly'd birthday is coming up in October. I wonder what I will have to make then.

Where am I going?

I went to enrichment tonight. I really enjoyed myself or maybe I just really enjoyed having adult conversation. I love my family, but somedays I just really need to be me; not somebody's mother or somebody's wife. To go somewhere and not have to clean up after my children or my husband. To be around people who appreciate me just for being me, and not for filling their sippy cup or doing their laundry. Most days I feel like I've lost me. I have now been categorized as a wife and mother. What happened to me, all of my hopes, my goals, my dreams, and my talents. I know once you have children that life isn't about you anymore, it is all about their needs, and I am totally fine with that. I love taking care of my babies. I also think it is important to take care of me, physically, spiritually and emotionally.
I want to find me again.
Physically, I am close to being on the right track. When I got pregnant with my son, I went a little overboard with food. I ate like 6 full meals a day. Outrageous, I know this now. Then I thought I was eating for two. Silly me, I was young and aloud to be nieve. I gained a crazy amount of weight and have been struggling with it for years now. I've wanted to lose weight forever, but never really had the courage to try. I'll go running for like two weeks and then I stop because it makes me sad that it is hard on my body now. I used to run everyday and loved it. Now I feel stupid when I'm out of breath so easily. So I recently lost twenty more pounds. I haven't been excersices, just watching what I eat. Cutting out soda completely and cutting my portions in half. But I finally hit a platue. I haven't lost anymore, so now the aweful running will have to come back in to play. Not looking forward to it, but seeing the difference twenty pounds has made, I really know I can do it. I need this, not only for me but for my kids as well. I find myself too tired to be able to do the things with them that I want to. I KNOW I CAN!
Spiritually, I want to be truely devoted. I have always had an extremely strong testimony of the truthfullness of the gospel. However, I am not knowledgeable of church history and the stories from the scriptures. To be honest, I was a rebel child. I made a lot of wrong choices in my youth. I was raised in the church, but I think with so many of the examples I had around me falling away from the church, it was hard for me to make good choices. I knew I wanted to choose the right, but in the end I wasn't. I was lost even then. But through it all, I always knew that this is where I belonged. I know I belong to this church, and my feelings have never changed. I recently made this goal, to start making my scripture study a priority in my life. It has never really been my thing, probably because I get "LOST in TRANSLATION", if you know what I mean. But I have been praying before each reading session, and it has truely made a differnce. I miraclulously understand what I am reading. I know look forward to reading them. I find my self so excited when my children finally fall asleep, so I can get all cozy in my quiet bedroom.
Emotionally, I just need to get them, my emotions, undercontrol. After having children I just seem so up and down. I think taking some time to focus on me is making a world of difference.
One day, I hope all will be in place, and my kinks be worked out and I will be stoked about where I am today. I am thrilled to know where I am going.

The day after wedding, we all went to Uncle Mike and Aunt Jan's house for lunch. It was so fun to sit down and have time to chat with everyone.

Jesse's sister, Trisha, interviewed their Grandma Margret Head about her childhood and adult life. I thought it was a beautiful thing to do. I think Grandma Head really enjoyed it. I'm gonna get some of those questions and answers from Trisha. I think we will all really appreciate it.
